This Privacy Policy explains how Resume For You ("we", "us", "our"), operating resume4u.help, collects, uses and protects your information. We are based in India and process personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) of India.

1. Information we collect

a. Information you provide

• Resume & portfolio content you type in — such as your name, email, phone number, location, work history, education and skills.
• Account information — if you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile picture. Sign-in is optional; the builder works without it.
• Payment information — PDF purchases are processed by Razorpay. We do not see or store your card, UPI or bank details; we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded.

b. Information collected automatically

• Basic usage and device data (e.g. browser type, anonymous analytics) to keep the service working and improve it.
• Data stored locally in your browser to save your progress and remember a completed purchase for 24 hours.

2. How we use your information

• To generate, preview, edit and download your resume, cover letter and portfolio.
• To process your PDF payment and unlock your download.
• To save your work to the cloud when you are signed in.
• To operate, secure and improve the service.

3. AI processing

When you use AI features (bullet points, summaries, cover letters), the content you entered is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce the result. It is used only to generate your output and is not used to train AI models.

4. Where your data is stored & who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the providers needed to run the product:

• Google — optional sign-in.
• Firebase (Google Cloud) — to save your documents when signed in, and to host shared resume links.
• Razorpay — to process payments.
• Anthropic — to power AI generation.
• Netlify — website hosting.

Shared resume links (the QR / link you generate) are stored for 30 days and then expire.

5. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you may request to access, correct or delete your personal data, and withdraw consent. If you signed in, you can delete your saved documents from within the app. To make a request, contact us below.

6. Data retention

We keep cloud-saved documents while your account is active or until you delete them. Shared links expire after 30 days. Payment records are retained as required for accounting and legal compliance.

7. Children

The service is intended for job seekers aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version.
